Let’s talk about love…

Hello, my friends. Those of you who know me, know that I have been unlucky at love. Never actually been in love, in fact. I’ve had many “encounters”, shall we say, but never love. Just wasn’t in the cards for me.  With men, that is. But animals, oh boy, have I been blessed! I’ve writtenContinue reading “Let’s talk about love…”

Update on Me!

It’s been a while since I’ve written, so here’s what’s been going on: Overall, things are good right now!  Thanks for going on this journey with me!  ❤️

Update on Me

My anxiety is getting the better of me, friends. It feels like it’s getting worse, and I can’t explain it. The furbabies are all healthy and happy (I hope!), I’m employed – still on a consulting contract until the end of April, but there is talk of an extension. And I have cut all U.S.Continue reading “Update on Me”

I got my first tattoo…

…probably 35 years ago. I was young and thought I was “edgy”, and/or desperately trying to BE edgy, like my cool older sister. It’s a small purple flower on my left arm. It’s harmless, really, but it doesn’t mean anything. Didn’t mean anything at the time. It was just an adornment. Not much different fromContinue reading “I got my first tattoo…”

2026 Book Forecast

I did some foreshadowing of my 2026 Reading Goals last weekend: 120 books, 26 of which must come from my TBR. BUT THERE’S MORE! I need to mix it up this year. I really enjoyed my library tours last year, so I’m adding an element of that this year. I have set the goal ofContinue reading “2026 Book Forecast”

2025 Reading Wrap-up

Let’s talk about my year in books. The original goal I set for 2025 was 120 books. I thought 10 a month was a reasonable goal. Well, then unemployment hit me, and I managed to read 140 books last year. I absolutely do not recommend unemployment, but it definitely helps your reading game. March wasContinue reading “2025 Reading Wrap-up”

Christmas Wrap-up

I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas!  We had a good holiday, and I think the animals were happy. 😁  I’m still in holiday mode, so today’s post is light on content; it’s essentially just a photo dump of the last couple of days. We’ll get back into the good stuff in January.  OnContinue reading “Christmas Wrap-up”

Let’s Talk About Christmas

Christmas was magical to me as a child. The entire season: the snow, the time away from school, and of course Santa!  I was always an early riser, and I always wanted to be up early to see the presents under the tree. But my mom had a strict rule – no presents until myContinue reading “Let’s Talk About Christmas”

Lifelong Learning

Let’s take a break from Henry this week, as adorable as he is. Let’s discuss my love of learning and books, and an interesting theory I’ve been bouncing around.  I was a pretty smart kid. I was reading before kindergarten – my mom had been a teacher before she got married, so she made sureContinue reading “Lifelong Learning”

Mea Culpa…

When I resumed these blog posts, I made a promise to myself that I was going to be brutally honest, and vulnerable.  I truly believe that that is how you make connections with people.  I also want to push back against the perfect lives that are presented on social media. What you will get fromContinue reading “Mea Culpa…”
