Who knew?

In the last week, I’ve been told by two friends that I’m an inspiration to them. I must admit, that’s a hell of a thing. No more than six months ago, I was not in the best of spaces: I remember sitting in my sister’s car in the veterinarian’s parking lot, sobbing, while texting my best friend about how I was flailing: I was underemployed and didn’t know what I was going to do – my career was the biggest thing in my life up until relatively recently – I was driving a borrowed fifteen year old car, and I had just been told that my baby Frankie was stressed, and it was implied that I was a bad momma. For those of you who know me, you can understand what a dagger to the heart that was. Hence the waterworks.

Well, six months later, we find ourselves here. I’m working full-time (remotely, even better!), I’ve been able to monetize, if on a very small scale, my baking hobby, I’ve reconnected with some amazing women, friend and family, Frankie, Lily and Callie are thriving and are such joys, and my new car Helga entered my life last Friday.

Meet Helga!

I’m just out here, living my life, doing the best that I can. There are struggles, which I should be more honest about, but there are a fair number of triumphs, as well. If anyone can find any laughter, or <gasp> inspiration in this journey, I am happy to have you along for the ride. 😊
